A poem about Dr. Seuss and his legacy.Pretty as pictures the stories are toldYou can't know for certain how they will unfoldBut once you get stuck in they flow like a streamas light as a feather, as sweet as a dreamThe narrator plays with his words and your mindand the wit, while it bites is by no means unkindThe Grinch may steal Christmas but soon he finds outthat Christmas just cannot be stopped out and outAnd while the Zax stand there stock-still in their tracksthe traffic moves on in the Prairy of PraxThe Cat in the Hat stands on top of a ballspeaking in rhyme and amusing us allAnd as we count fish or see Ned in his bedwe love all the fun that we know will be hadWe smile at the tricks of Thing One and Thing Twoand we worry that Horton may not save his WhoThese stories we share with our children at nightwhen it's time to go bed and to turn out the lightAs the old love to read out the language of Seussthe young love to listen and work out its cluesAnd I'm sure that the old man were he still aroundwould smile if he clicked on this site and he foundthat the fans of his work wished to share in the funof the tales and he stories that Dr. Seuss spunBut sadly this tale has a bad twist indeedand turns into a story of evil and greedHis heirs want a finger in every pieeven if it DOES make his whole legacy dieWhenever a fan posts a vid - or just triestheir lawyers descend on it like blue arsed fliesThey DMCA and they silence the voiceand so they kill all of old Seuss-Geissel's joyDr Seuss enterprises, complete with "L.P."Please go to hell, or at least just bite me.© Pino Carafa (rozeboosje) reserves the right to be recognised as the original author of this work - 18 June 2010
